The Haps

13 Jan

I am just not feeling well today. I’m at work and everything’s fine, but my stomach hurts like hell and I’m all weak and Crohns-y.

That aside, I’m just going to keep on truckin’. Here’s what I’ve been up to:

 365 Project

I am using the free Instagram app to do a 365 project. I’m focusing on simple shots of my day-to-day life. Partly this is because this is what I like, and partly because I am so epically lazy. Although I’d participate in the odd 30-day challenge on flickr using my big camera, I just don’t have the time, the inclination, or the desire to pull out the big camera, go through shots, edit, and post the best one everyday. Shocking, I know. I’m just trying to find time to both shower and exercise every day while watching a baby and somehow making a nutritious dinner. I convinced my bestie Angela to also download the app and participate with me, because everything’s more fun with friends. Feel free to join in and let me know so I can follow you.

 GONE BABY, GONE

Anthony will be gone a lot for business the next couple weeks. While I will miss him terribly, I’m also concerned about spending so much time as a Solo Parent. And I’m more than a little worried about my ability to shower. It will be interesting to say the least. Oh, sure, I’m having lots of friends over and I have two very nice neighbors that will be keeping an eye on me, but still. I’m looking forward to a lot of hard work and sleep deprivations. You can look forward to a lot of maudlin tweets about missing my husband. Everybody wins!

 READING RAINBOW

I mentioned on twitter last night that I have too many books. It’s sad, but true. We have one whole wall lined with bookshelves and still, we are running short on space for our collection. We can fit one more Ikea bookshelf in our office/library, but that’s it. So, Anthony and I might have to do a bit of purging and pruning of the collection. A lot of it is my favorite, nonfiction. Depending on what and how many books we cull I might have a giveaway since so many people were interested. Locals, I will also be offering books your way as a few of you piped up as well.

I’ve got a daughter about the same age as yours, and she’s usually pretty happy to either jump in the shower with me, or play on the bathroom floor with a few toys while I grab the quickest shower I can.

Isobel has never liked the shower, though I’ve brought her in with me lots of times. I don’t think she’ll tolerate it anymore. No, I forsee locking her in the bathroom with me, as I usually have to do when Anthony works late. I pretty much have to shower with the door open at least a bit, though. I need to be sure she’s no where near the toilet because I’m paranoid she’ll drop something in.

I would suggest getting one of those things to lock the toilet but I really don’t want to have to wrestle it when I have to pee at your place, lol.

If you need a few minuets to shower some night I can always come by and cook with Isobel for a few.

A lock on the toilet is A TIMEBOMB FOR DISASTER.

If you prune any cookbooks let me know. I’ll gladly pay shipping.

Will do. I have about 300 and plan on buying more. I’m sure there’ll be pruning.

Once Marc gets around to building me kitchen cabinets and stuff, I’m planning on him building me some nice bookcases too. Right now though, I have nowhere to put anything. I miss my books.

I’d be so sad without my books. I hope you were at least allowed to keep your most favorite ones close by.

Dude. Good luck with the 365, it’s a lot of work. Get ready. I’m having to move, which is a major bummer, but the major major downside is having to get rid of a lot of my books. Which sucks. A lot. Because I collect books and one of my personal life goals is to have a bigger personal collection than Cotton Mather. Oh well…

I’m seriously going about it in the laziest way possible.

I’ve been mostly using instagram for my P365 pics too. I will eventually throw together a tumblr, but for now they’re just on bookface.
