FAQ

Why Little Big?

Because the little moments in life are the most important.

Hey, aren’t you a book?

Nope! I’m a blog!

There is a book called Little, Big however, and it is excellent. It is by John Crowley. I suggest you read it immediately.

What’s your motto about?

Someone found my blog using the search term “Bitch doesn’t think I can multitask.” I decided from time to time I’m going to change my motto based on search engine queries. Read more about it here.

What is Little Big Shop?

The Little Big Shop is an Etsy store that sells fantastic vintage finds several times a year. Browsing through thrift stores and estate sales is my favorite thing ever but my house can only hold so much. I still get the same thrill for shopping for others as I do shopping for myself, so I figure this Etsy shop is win-win. I have decorated my own home almost entirely from thrift stores. This shop of mine has been a dream for a long time.

What is Little Big Photography?

I love photography, especially portraiture: babies, senior portraits, engagement portraits, family portraits. Email me if you’d like to schedule a session.

What is Follow Friday?

Follow Friday is a meme from Twitter. It’s a time to recommend some of your followers for other people to follow. It’s a great way to find new people who tweet interesting things. I took it a step further and I retweeted my favorite tweets from the previous week so people could see why I was recommending them. After awhile I was retweeting so many tweets I moved the whole thing over here so as not to flood my follower’s twitter streams. I also pick my favorite tweet to feature for Tweet of the Week and intersperse the whole things with photos from the past week–usually of my daughter. You can find them here.

What is Overshare Wednesday?

It’s a meme created by my friend Laurel. You can read about its humble beginnings here.

Wha?

My husband’s family is from Guatemala and so a smattering of Spanish words are a regular part of my daughter’s conversation. It is my hope that she grows up to be fluent in both English and Spanish. Words we use most often are ‘agua’ which means ‘water’ and ‘pacha’ which means ‘bottle.’ More translations, plus Isobel’s Martian-speak, can be found in this post.

How do you pronounce your daughter’s name?

Isobel: “EEEE-so-bell.”

Is that a bruise on your daughter’s shoulder?

Nope, it’s a birth mark. Technically, it’s a hemangioma. It’s not really a big deal and will probably go away before she’s ten. If not, she has the beginnings of a rad tattoo! Of course, it’s already started fading so it’s probably not permanent.

Your orange cat is HUGE. How much does he weigh?

He is enormous. He is a Maine Coon and is 25lbs of love. We unexpectedly adopted him from a shelter while on a routine trip to the pet store for some cat food. Oops.

Hi, do you have an RSS feed I could use to remind me to remember to come check out your blog. I’ll never remember otherwise and I feel like I might miss something important. I looked and looked on your site and can’t find the little symbol anywhere. 😦

Thanks for reminding me, Lee! I’ve added an RSS Feed at the bottom of each page.

I love your cat. All of my animals are the product of a wild hair up my ass. No shit. I love them all equally and while none of them are impressivey gigantic, they have some AWESOME personalities. Especially Amaya, my Kitten who I blog about because she has a crack (cookie) problem and I’m pretty sure I can’t afford rehab for her.
