I recently bought a copy of Not Your Mother’s Casseroles. I’ll admit I never would have bought this if the author wasn’t a contributing editor to The Kitchn. I’m curious to find out if these recipes are delicious. I’ll let you know.

I admit to vague offense with the “Not Your Mother’s Casseroles” title. On two points, I guess: the first is that my mother’s casseroles are really good, though I acknowledge this is possible unusual. The second is that I’m worried that the recipes are going to be all healthy and inedible. Which you’ll have to report back to me about. Maybe I’ll get it from the library, I’ve just about exhausted my braising book.
Will do. I don’t know, I’m still sort of conflicted about it. I wanted it because I want to be able to make freeze-ahead dishes, so this seemed like a natural choice, but I don’t know. It seems like there are a lot of ways a book like this can go wrong.
Who’d complain about that shirt? *covets*
